Summer is here! We hope you had a chance to get away and enjoy some time off in the great outdoors over the Memorial Day Weekend.
In May’s newsletter, we mentioned that our team of agents attended the “32nd Annual Outlook for Texas Land Markets” conference hosted in San Antonio, Texas. With constant chatter of recession, inflation, bank failures, rising interest rates, etc. the overall tone of this year’s conference was very reassuring as it pertained to rural land in Texas.
Year after year, I get the most value from the Q&A session with a panel of top land appraisers from each eco-region of the state. With the exception of “Far-West Texas,” the narrative from every appraiser was that the price per acre of rural land has stabilized, and they expected a small uptick in appreciation. That said, the transaction volume has significantly slowed when compared to 2021 and 2022.
So what does this mean for buyers and sellers of rural land? We’ll break that down for you in next month’s newsletter. Stay tuned!
